The Easi-Chill cold pack is designed specifically for the CoolMeds Medicine & Insulin Travel Case. The pair work together to ensure the medicine inside isn't exposed to hot temperatures that could ruin it.

The new and improved cold pack means the bag is more efficient and the new coolant material means that the buffer pads are no longer required. If you have the MediGenix Coolmeds Isothermic Bag, and are replacing the cold packs, you can use them in the same way as before.

Always have a spare cold pack for your CoolMeds Medicine & Insulin Travel Case as you never know when you might need it.

We recommend you use the cold pack for 1 year* before changing it for a new one.

  • Weight: 370 grams
  • Volume: 370ml (when frozen, it is no longer a liquid and therefore safe to fly with)

Important note:

We have changed our cold packs and buffer pads (now buffer boards) to work with the MediGenix Coolmeds 2-8°C bag. If you are replacing a cold pack, you will need to by two of these cold packs and the buffer boards will be included free of charge.

Freeze the cold packs for a minimum of 14 hours. Then before your trip, you will need to take the cold packs out of the freezer and leave them out for a minimum of 45 minutes. Then you can insert the cold packs into the bag along with the buffer board. When the bag stabilises at a temperature above 0, it is safe for your medicine to go inside.

*As the pack is constantly changing temperature, overtime the contents inside can become unevenly distributed which can affect the efficiency of the case.

Always freeze your gel packs for at least 14 hours in a domestic freezer before using them in your medicine bag. Always keep your cooled medical bag closed unless you need to access your medication. Never place your medication in direct contact with the frozen gel pack.

Take care not to drop or bump the cold packs especially whilst frozen. Plastic becomes brittle when frozen and so any impact could result in a fine crack that won't necessarily be noticed straight away. Then once the cold pack starts to thaw, the gel will leak into the pocket of the bag. Try to freeze the cold packs on a flat shelf or in a container in the freezer to protect them.

It's strongly advised to travel with a copy of your prescription and a letter from your GP with details of your medication (including its generic name, not just the brand name and the name of the health condition that you need the medication for). As well as helping you avoid any problems at customs, this will be useful if you need medical help while you're away. It may be worth getting the information translated into the language of the country or countries that you're visiting. Always seek advice from the airline you are travelling with or the departure/transit airport authorities regarding travelling with cooled medical bags or cooling devices.
