The CoolMeds Global isothermal case has been extensively tested and validated to safely transport 2-8°C medication for 30 to 36hrs*.

It's important 2-8°C medication doesn't exceed 8°C or drop below 2°C, where it is in danger of freezing. There's plenty to plan for when travelling without also having to worry about whether your 2-8°C medication will stay safely chilled from A to B. The Global provides a solution to this, so you can concentrate on enjoying the trip instead.

The Global was designed as a 2-8°C case that provides the solution for the following requirements:

  • to hold bulkier pens and bottles that don't fit into conventional 2-8°C cases, and/or
  • to hold larger quantities of medication, and/or
  • to provide a longer period of 2-8°C protection - up to 36 hours.

Please refer to the diagram which gives an indication as to what can fit in the CoolMeds Global case. 

The Global is made from high-quality material with multiple layers of insulation for maximum protection. To protect the medication from overcooling and freezing, the insulation and cool cage absorb the initial excess cold and then distribute the cold evenly through to the medication. This process creates a stable 2-8°C environment for your medication. 

The Global has been rigorously tested and has passed the 2-8°C validation with flying colours. In fact, the test data indicates that it is only the two outermost sections of the cool cage that will last up to 30 hours at 2-8°C but that the rest of the inner sections of the cool cage will last up to 36 hours. Therefore, if you need more than 30 hours, ensure that you do not place medication in the two outer sections of the cool cage. This is achieved by simply sliding the removable dividers into the cool cage to effectively block off the two outer sections. If you will be transporting 60ml bottles then we recommend the lids of the bottles are positioned towards the two outer sections as shown in the photo here above. That way, the liquid medication is always located in the coldest sections of the cool cage. It may sound a bit complicated, but it really isn't - we just like to be detailed about these things so that you have all the information you need to safely transport your medication. The information leaflet that comes with the case will go into more detail and will provide you with all the information you need.

In addition to the cool cage, the Global comes with a fluted cool cage. This is useful for transporting boxes of medication when the contents of the box should not be exposed to light. The fluted cool cage will accommodate boxes measuring up to 20.4 (L) x 5.3 (W) x 16 (H) cm.

NB: Do not be tempted to place medication in the case without using either the cool cage or the fluted cool cage, as the medication will come into direct contact with the frozen cold packs, and this will partially freeze the medication.

The two specially ribbed CoolMeds cold packs flank the cool cage and guard against overcooling by ensuring a narrow space is kept between the frozen cold packs and the cool cage. The same applies when using the fluted cool cage instead. This space effectively creates a buffer zone which diffuses the cold and protects your medication from overcooling. For this reason, do not use any other type of cold pack in the Global. These cold packs can also be bought separately as it is good to have spares and they should be replaced every 24 months as the gel denatures over time. 

It is highly recommended that you do at least one trial run before your journey to make sure you are familiar with using the case especially because conditioning the cold packs is the most important step. It will also give you time to ask us any questions you might have.

The CoolMeds Global comes with a detailed user manual which must be read before using the case. It can be helpful to take it with you to show airport security to prevent the case from being opened unnecessarily.

Effective but heavy for me

The cool box works incredibly well in its predominant purpose of keeping medication cool for up to 36 hours and the customer service was excllent. Downside is I found the case a bit heavy but that's because of the big cold packs which last longer so it is what it is. All in all, it performed very well.

I am very glad to confirm that the coolmeds global medication case is fantastic. I had no issue at any airport security as they didn't ask me to open the coolmed Global case or ask any questions. Though this may be due to the fact that I stuck the top part of my used injection box to the case so they could see what was inside. My flight was delayed in Mumbai. Therefore, my journey was around 23 hours long. The ambient temperature was between 24c to 32c, and Coolmeds Global kept my medication between 2-8C. Now my medication is in the fridge.
I am extremely grateful for all the help, support, and excellent customer care you have provided and cannot thank you enough.

Bought this case for a trip to Aus and must say I was relievedd with how long it lasted. Built beautifully. 4 stars as I found it a bit bigger than i wanted but guess the main thing is it lasted the distance - one can't have it both ways.

Ordered this case for a trip to australia as I needed a case to go the distance. It's impressive - solid quality. Read the instructions and called the company who were knowledgeable, which these days is a nice surprise tbh. My biologics medicine was cold when I reached Perth and the packs were still good.

How do I track my order?

The tracking for my order shows it has been delivered but I have not received it. What should I do?

What do I do if I have missed my delivery?

Royal Mail or Parcelforce (depending on the delivery service chosen) should have left a calling card. Please give them a call or visit their site as instructed on the card to book a redelivery or collection. If you have any trouble, please contact us so we can help you.
