150 Million people in the world suffer from diabetes and have to inject themselves with insulin. It can be stressful, painful and even more so if you don't like needles. TickleFlex is device that can massively improve the experience to make it safer, easier and less likely to bruise the skin or over inject.
To ensure best practice, the TickleFLEX does three main things:
Distracts: the TickleFlex textured fingers that distract the skin from realising any pain may be inflicted.
Gathers: It also helps to gather a small area of tissue to help the needle be directed to where it's intended. This helps if the user has shaky hands.
Secures: When the TickleFLEX is pushed down, it secures and stablises the needles for an easy injection and to prevent needles shear.
As the TickleFLEX aids a much easier injection, users begin to feel more confident to inject into alternative sites, which can help reduce the risk of lipohypertrophy (a lump under the skin caused by too many insulin injections in the same place).
For those that have a phobia of needles, the TickleFLEX hides the view of the needle so you can feel a little more calm and less stressed.
The large pad also helps to ensure the needle isn't injected too far into the body.
TickleFLEX allows the user to feel more relaxed, confident and at ease when injecting insulin. It's super easy to use and can drastically change the experience.
